According to sources, Chatur Singh is definitely inspired by Pink Panther, but the setting is definitely very Indian. Dutt has great comic timing and for the first time, will be seen in an out-and-out comic role. But the film’s writer Rumi Jaffrey begs to differ and says that Chatur Singh is not based on Pink Panther. Talking about the similarities in the posters of both films, he revealed that since they were unable to get Sanjay Dutt for a shoot, they decided to use a cartoon character instead. Apparently the film is partially inspired from Pink Panther. Sanju’s character in the film is based somewhat on Inspector Clouseau.
